HBHC-2022 spring mtg-logistics-memo
Hello Honey Bee Health Coalition,
We are really looking forward to getting the Coalition back together for an in-person meeting! On May 10-12 we will convene in Traverse City, Michigan, for a business meeting, multiple field experiences and evening social events. Thank you to our co-hosts Tom Smith of the National Pesticide Safety Education Center and Ana Heck of Michigan State University Extension.
While we are still finalizing details, the meeting will begin on Tuesday, May 10 at 2pm for an optional bus tour of orchards and fruit processing plants. We will be flexible based on which crops are blooming. We will end the day with a happy hour at a great local wine and cidery. On Wednesday we’ll hold our business meeting at the NW Michigan Horticultural Research Center, where we’ll meet most of the day and be able to tour their research orchards. That night we’ll hold a dinner. On Thursday, May 12 we’ll head out on the bus in the morning and visit Sleeping Bear Farms. This farm pollinates cherry and apple orchards locally, sends bees to almonds, and has a large honey production facility. We’ll hold lunch next door at Saint Ambrose Cellars and get everyone back to the airport by 2pm.
Meeting logistics, hotel room block, and other information can be found in the attached memo.
Please RSVP for the meeting ASAP – no later than April 4 – by completing the brief form at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HBHCspring22
Thanks and really looking forward to seeing everyone!
