Help Wanted: West Cowan Apiaries is hiring for the 2027 Bee Season.

Apiary Supervisor:( NOC-82030)- 1 person required. Must have 3-5 full bee seasons of apiary experience.
Duties include: unpacking and packing, checking hives, feeding, medicating, cleaning, moving, splitting, supering, raising queens as well as harvesting and extracting honey, keeping field and production records, as well as supervising and giving direction to other employees. To monitor bee hive health issues and to apply appropriate disease cures or controls.
Valid driver’s license required.
Wage: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour (dependant on experience)
Job is: Seasonal (F-T). Minimum of 40 + hours per week.
Length of employment: April 5- November 4,2027
(7 months)

Apiary Technicians – (NOC 84120) – 4 persons required – Must have 2-3 full bee seasons of apiary experience.
Duties include: to work in the presence of honey bees, wrapping & unwrapping hives, assist with colony management, queen rearing, checking hives, feeding, medicating, cleaning, moving, splitting, supering bee hives. Monitor bee hive health, assisting with harvesting and honey extraction. Fixing and building bee equipment; upkeep of various bee yards; and maintenance of work vehicles.
Valid driver’s license required.
Wage: $ 17.50 - $20.00 per hour (dependant on experience)
Job is: Seasonal (F-T). Minimum of 40+ hours per week.
Length of employment: April 5-November 4, 2027 (7 months)

Apiary workers (85100) – 5 persons required- Must have 1-2 full bee seasons of apiary experience. Duties include: to work in the presence of honey bees; cleaning of the full honey building, carrying and stacking of honey supers, grass cutting around the honey building and yard site; maintain and cut grass in the various bee yards. Extracting and processing honey and any other apiary jobs that are required.
Valid driver’s license
Wage: $ 16.00 - $17.45 per hour (dependant on experience)
Job is: Seasonal (F-T). Minimum of 40+ hours per week.
Length of employment : June 15 – September 30, 2027.

Training is provided on a ongoing basis. Please do not apply if you are allergic to bees.
Experience driving a standard truck is a asset. To be in good physical condition and to work in a team environment. Most jobs are performed outdoors in all kinds of weather, repetitive work, and physically demanding.

Work locations are: SE 14-56-8 W3, our bee yards are also located in the RM’s of Big River, Shellbrook and Canwood.
